…called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28b).
A few weeks ago, our pastor posed the question, “How do you know when you’re called?”
It is such an amazing feeling to look back on a situation and know, really know, that God used us and the result was very, very good.
We are called daily though, to be faithful to mundane tasks which are very much in His will in order to survive on earth and to serve the family that He gave us. But what about bigger things—not necessarily more important—just out of the ordinary?
We can be sure that God would never call us to do something contrary to His word or His law. That’s a definite red flag. Another indicator is to ask ourselves if it will draw others closer to God and the saving grace of His Son.
And sometimes we just have to step out of our comfort zone and trust that if it is His will, He’ll equip us.
As one who screws up on a daily basis, I certainly take comfort in the first part of this verse, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…”
