…and pray

And pray in the spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests (Eph 6:18a).

If Paul was writing a text or a Facebook comment, he would have a dozen exclamation points after the word pray. Prayer releases the amazing power that holds the planets in space, the power that meticulously designed every cell, the unfathomable power that raised Christ from the dead. That same power is at our disposal.

We are urged at the end of the verse to pray for each other. I think of a single woman who, after her mother passed away, wondered if anyone was praying for her. Is anyone praying for you?

We can begin by praying ourselves for others. God knows their needs. And, as you’re reading this, know that you are being prayed for.
