Time with the Father

Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and slipped out to a solitary place to pray (Mark 1:35).

This is the same verse that I used for the last post.  Later in the week my friend Lillian posted a comment that really touched me. I thought it was worth sharing in case some of you missed it:

Jesus left His eternal intimacy with the Father so that we can have a chance at intimacy with Him; knowing that we would squander the opportunity. But we see in this passage that He longed for that connection and sought after, not out of obligation but out of desire.

Early… while it was still dark… He couldn’t wait to get the day started… He couldn’t wait to commune with the Father!

Oh to have that passion, that want, that desire, that need for His presence!
