To Infinity and Beyond

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This verse certainly applies to children, and I use it often when writing a word of encouragement on a graduation card. But I’m so glad that this verse has no expiration date. God has plans for our future until we take our last breath in this world, and the exciting part is that He has plans for us beyond that. Our value and usefulness extends into eternity…and that defines hope.

  1. All to often we concentrate our focus on the present and forget that this isn’t our home. We are only here for a short time, as Paul says “fight the good fight, keep the faith”. Hope for the “Well done ,good and faithful servant” to be your prize.

  2. You are so right! Our pastor strung a line across the whole auditorium which represented the beginning of time through (part of) eternity, Then he made a small mark at one end with a sharpie pen. That mark represented our life here on earth. God does have hope-filled plans for us for our entire time here on earth, but the best is yet to come. Good to remember if we’re ever discouraged fighting that good fight.
